The stakes are high against ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley, but the catch is, the hard-hitting legend from Pomona, California has other things in mind other than losing to Manny Pacquiao on their May 7 fight. He schemes to use his swift hand speed and superior boxing skills to attack Pacquiao’s weak points, especially his chin; and in which case, his midsection as well. If anyone can lull Pacquiao to a body shot or a knockout, that would just be Shane Mosley, or so he says.
There’s just no second thoughts about it, Mosley has the right set of skills and a lion’s heart to deliver a potentially good fight enough to blow Pacquiao’s midsection, probably even more so that Pacquiao has ever faced. Let’s have a recap of Mosley’s stunts. Sure enough, Antonio Margarito’s hit to the kidney was just enough to draw Pacquiao to his knees buckling the intense pain, but the punch that caused it lacked the speed and damage that Sugar’s punches are known to harbor.
On the contrary, though Mosley may have what it takes to upset the current Pound for Pound king, he most certainly will not have it throughout the entire 36 minutes the fight is scheduled to run.
For the record, Mosley will be a danger to Pacquiao in the first few rounds, but his stamina may also wane due to fatigue and time. When this phenomenon happens, it will be up to Pacquiao to capitalize, something we’ve learned from Freddie Roach eons ago.
