Pacquiao to have About 140 Sparring Rounds in Preparation for the Mosley Fight

Though for some sports analysts, Manny Pacquiao will surely take Shane Mosley down and with the possibility of a knock-out, the Eight Division champion, however, is definitely not taking Shane Mosley and their upcoming fight lightly. In fact, his coach says that there are more sparring partners awaiting him in the wild card in preparation for the match.

According to Manny Pacquiao in his interview with a local TV network in his country, the Philippines, he undergoes sparring three times a week and the duration of the sparring rounds increases per week, aiming to reach their target of 140 rounds of sparring.

Among the boxers whom Pacquiao sparred in Baguio City where Shawn Porter and David Rodela. The world champion said that he will spar with several more boxers at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles. “There are more sparring partners waiting for me there,” Pacquiao said.

In his most recent fight with the Mexican boxer Antonio Margarito last November, Pacquiao reportedly logged only 110 sparring rounds. As a result, there were instances in that fight when the Filipino champion got tired in front of the Mexican Giant. Now that he is to face the 39-year-olf American boxer named Shane Mosley, he needs to prepare even more because he wanted their fight to be more perfect.

“This time, I won’t underestimate my opponent, not even 1 percent,” said Pacquiao. “I need to fully prepare for my fight against Mosley. He is a very good and strong boxer,” he added.
